Parking Dispute Leads to Gun Brandishing

Felipe Lopez

SAN BERNARDINO – Some people take their parking spaces seriously. Apparently 26-year-old Felipe Lopez felt that way last week when someone called 911 concerning a dispute.

It seems Lopez and the caller had a parking dispute and Lopez promptly pulled a gun.

Deputies responded, as did Sheriff’s Aviation – 40 King.  Soon Lopez was spotted at the intersection of Mt. Vernon and 17th Streets.  He was stopped and arrested.

In his vehicle authorities discovered a stolen Glock 9MM pistol, as well as several magazines loaded with ammunition.  In addition, Lopez was on “active felony probation for a vehicle hit and run with injury.”

Because the SBSD believes Lopez may have threatened others with the gun, they announced – “Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Central Station at (909)387-3545. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or you may leave information on the We-Tip Hotline at www.wetip.com.”
