HEMET – On November 28th, police received a domestic violence call. An officer then responded to Palm and Menlo Avenues in search of 29-year-old James Avalos, the reported offender.
Avalos left the scene in a stolen car. When police spotted him, he sped away. Police pursued him and, at Lyon and Latham Avenues, Avalos’ car became disabled. During this chase Avalos also rammed two police cars.
It wasn’t long before police made the arrest for felony evading, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of meth, violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
In addition, Avalos had two arrest warrants served on him, for domestic violence and burglary. For all of this, he was booked at Riverside County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
