Authorities Make Second Arrest in Truckee Bank Robbery Case

Alex Frasier

On December 3rd, police responded to the Bank of America on Donner Pass Road after reports of a robbery.

At approximately 10 AM, the bank had been robbed at gunpoint by an unidentified male suspect who’d entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and ordered the employees to put money in a bag. He then fled the scene before police arrived.

A joint investigation between Truckee Police and the FBI led authorities to 19-year-old Alex Frasier of Reno, who is allegedly an accomplice in what turned out to be an inside job. 20-year-old Grant Schaeffer, also of Reno and an employee at the bank, was arrested on the scene after he was found to have been involved in the robbery. He was booked into the Nevada County Jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy that same day.

Two days later, on December 5th, FBI agents and Redding Police officers located Frasier in the Redding area and arrested him on charges of robbery and conspiracy. He will be transported to Nevada County where he will then be booked and await prosecution. No further information will be released pending the outcome of the case.
