Nevada County corrections officer pleads guilty to misdemeanor assault

A Nevada County corrections officer has been convicted of misdemeanor assault by a public officer after pleading guilty on January 17th.

Adam Grizzell was accused of slamming the head of a handcuffed inmate, Andrew Mars, into the side of a concrete wall on June 27, 2018. Fortunately the incident did not cause any serious injuries to Mars.

Grizzell resigned on June 19, 2019, during the course of the investigation.

As a result of his conviction, he is forever barred from working in law enforcement under any capacity.
