Strong Arm Robbery Reported in Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE, Calif – – The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety announced that on June 23, 2016 at approximately 8:35 am, officers responded to the 700 block of S. Mathilda on a report of an armed robbery.

According to investigators, two black male adult suspects approached a male victim and demanded that he hand them his wallet, jewelry, and cell phone.  The male victim, fearing for his life, gave the suspects what they had asked for. They then fled the surrounding area on foot.   The male victim was unhurt and remained on scene until police arrived.

Police are describing the suspects as black males in their 20’s to early 30’s.  They were both in the possession of a handgun and are suspected to be armed and dangerous.  Once officers were able to get a physical description of the suspects, a routine search of the area began.  However, officers were unable to locate the suspects.

Police recommend that you never take on an armed gunman. They also suggest that you always walk in pairs at night, and never try to start a fight with someone you don’t know.

If anyone has any information about the whereabouts or identity of these two suspects, please contact the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at 408-730-7100.
