CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — Two senior citizens are in custody on suspicion of sexually molesting young children. Authorities in east San Francisco Bay area cities are investigating to determine whether there are additional victims.

Many children are believed to be victims in two separate unrelated cases, involving suspects who were arrested earlier this month.

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were tipped off by Stockton police about alleged sexual abuse and child molestation. One suspect, Lonnie Wright, 69 of Rodeo, is facing 10 felony charges.

Wright faces charges of having sexual intercourse and oral copulation with children 10 years old or younger. Other charges he faces include committing forcible lewd acts upon a child.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, because Wright has a history of babysitting young children.

Wright is presently being held in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $5.5 million bond.

Another suspect, Adalberto Guardado, 65 of San Pablo, was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl. He allegedly befriended the girl and took her home with him.

Guardado was arrested on September 15, after the girl told her mother what happened at his home on the previous day.

Guardado is presently being held at the West County Detention Facility, and he is not bondable. His charges include annoying/molesting a child and the sale or distribution of child pornography.
