Felon Arrested for Drugs and Identity Theft

Kevin Lee Tessandori

BAKERSFIELD — A 42-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested on Thursday, November 19, at around 8:30 a.m. for drug charges and stealing the identity of approximately 30 people.

Kevin Lee Tessandori of Bakersfield was booked into the Kern County Jail for being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, and is facing numerous additional charges for identity theft and fraud. He had also been arrested a month prior, at midnight on Monday, October 19, for burglary and possession of stolen property.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Tessandori was taken into custody after detectives serving a search warrant in the 11800 block of Mantova Avenue in Bakersfield, discovered credit card embosser, several credit card reader/writers, counterfeit currency, fake identification cards, stolen and fictitious checks, stolen and altered credit cards, laminators, numerous computer and electronic storage devices, printers, scanners, and others evidence indicative of credit card fraud, check fraud, and identity theft.

The investigation was prompted by recent reports of mail theft, forgery and identity theft.

Detectives said they also discovered drug paraphernalia and several boxes of 9mm ammunition and magazines during their search.

Tessandori has a history of identity theft and related charges. In 2007, records show he was charged with embezzlement by and employee of over $400, forgery, and possession of stolen property. In March of 2008 he was arrested for contempt of court – disobeying a protective order. Then in June of that year he was charged with forgery, grand theft, possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of another’s ID, and false personation to make another liable. In July he was then charged with possession of a controlled substance, stolen property, resisting arrest, and giving false information to an officer. The next year, in December 2009, he was arrested for a DUI.
