Former Mrs. Orange County arrested in San Diego

SAN DIEGO – A young Irvine mother and former beauty queen was arrested on charges of creating and distributing child pornography.

Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, was arrested on Oct. 8 during a traffic stop in San Diego County on suspicion of producing and distributing child pornography and lascivious conduct with a child. According to press release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, “Alt is suspected of using a 4-year-old family member to manufacture child pornography and electronically distribute it for financial gain/ and or gifts.” Sheriff’s officials said that Alt reportedly confessed to the crimes to investigators during an interview.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department also said Alt is suspected of “advertising services online that many times resulted in an exchange of sex for money, often with her children present.” Alt is suspected of sending pornographic images of a four-year-old relative to a Marine stationed in Southern California that were found by Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS). Sheriff’s said they don’t suspect that Alt’s husband knew anything about her activities.

Sheriff’s officials said Alt also works with children as a volunteer at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente and Irvine. Alt was named Mrs. Orange County in 2014 and competed in the 2014 Mrs. California pageant.
