Suspects Used An Aluminum Bat and Sword in Attack

Two people were attacked by two Hispanic men on Thursday, August 27 at around 10:40 p.m. at Caruthers Park, on Flora Vista Street in Bellflower.

According to the report, one suspect attacked the men with an 18 inch sword, and the other used an aluminum baseball bat. One of the victims had a laceration on his forehead from the sword, and the other victim had serious injuries after being beaten by the suspect with the baseball bat.

The victims were transported to the nearest hospital and have been reported to be in stable condition.

Deputies searched the park, and they were able to locate only one suspect, who was arrested immediately. His name has not yet been released.

The other suspect was able to escape the scene and deputies are still searching for him. They do not have any description of him. Neither of the weapons could be located at the scene.
