Hit-And-Run Drunken Driver Faces Felony Charges

A resident of Pleasant Hill, 33, is now being charged with felonies after she allegedly fled the scene of an accident she caused on Interstate 80 in Davis on the afternoon of February 20.

According to a California Highway Patrol press release, Amanda Huston struck the rear end of a vehicle which was stopped in gridlocked traffic near the Mace Boulevard cloverleaf. As officers arrived on the scene in response to 911 calls, Huston attempted to disappear from the crowded scene of her accident. However, the CHP officers quickly apprehended her nearby.

As a result of the accident that occurred around 3:30 pm, two passengers seated in the rear-ended vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Huston was lodged in the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of felony drunken driving and hit-and-run. Authorities did not disclose whether she would be able to post bail. Records show Huston had another DUI arrest in February of 2010.
