Roseville Resident Arrested for Allegedly Smuggling Drugs Into San Quentin

A 63-year-old Roseville woman is reportedly under arrest on suspicion of smuggling drugs into San Quentin State Prison to be sold to inmates, according to an official press release from the Roseville Police Department.

Marie Kathrine Allison, 63, of Roseville, was reportedly arrested on suspicion of transporting heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana for sale, conspiracy, and bringing controlled substances into a state prison. She is reportedly being held in the Placer County Jail on $85,000 bail. Similar charges are reportedly being forwarded on three San Quentin inmates who are suspected of being her co-conspirators.

According to Roseville PD, several weeks ago Roseville PD Vice and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VNET) detectives began investigating allegations that a woman from Roseville was taking drugs into San Quentin, which is located near San Rafael on the northern San Francisco Bay.

During the course of the investigation — which was conducted in collaboration with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations Office of Correctional Safety’s Special Service Unit and Homeland Security Investigations’ Customs and Border Protection Air Unit — detectives reportedly gathered evidence that the suspect drove from Roseville to San Quentin with illegal drugs, which she took into the prison’s group visiting area and gave to an inmate during visits. The inmate and his co-conspirators are suspected of selling the drugs to other inmates. The Roseville woman had reportedly become acquainted with the inmate through a pen pal program.

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, VNET detectives reportedly followed the woman — later identified as Allison — from Roseville to San Quentin, where they contacted her and confiscated illegal drugs, leading to her arrest.

Earlier this year, on May 5, Allison posted on her Facebook page “I’ll believe marijuana is harmless for u when ur 80, no longer driving or making decisions that involve other people. until then, ur just a pothead, with blurred thinking . I hope u don’t drive when you’ve been hitting the glass dick .” Apparently she felt drugs in prison were not such a problem.
