Maybe Wal-mart Should Pay Its People Better Wages

HAWTHORNE, CA—The minimum wage is all the rage, and some underpaid, part-time people appear to have decided to go into business for themselves instead of waiting for one of the world’s wealthiest corporations to raise its pay standards.

Francisco Javier Isguerra, 21, was arrested by Hawthorne police on Friday, February 7 at approximately 1:30 p.m. along the 3600 block of Imperial Highway. The Wal-mart employee was busted for possession of a controlled substance, transporting/selling controlled substances, and failing to drive a vehicle within a single lane.

The last charge was most likely the behavior that got the Pomona resident stopped. Califorina Vehicle code 21658(A)VC states, ““Whenever any roadway has been divided into two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction, the following rules apply: (a) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.”

The bail set for essentially weaving while driving was a paltry $35. The collective bail for the two charges that appear to have followed as a result of Isguerra’s alleged attempts for possession and transporting/selling the substances that he may have hoped would help boost his revenue came to $500,000.

It is unknown if he will be able to return to Wal-mart and if so, if he will have to start out as a greeter.
