Former Track Coach Faces Additional Charges After Authorities Learn Of Third Victim

NORWALK – A Norwalk High School assistant track coach who was recently arrested for having sexual relations with two minor female students is now facing additional sexual assault charges after authorities learned of a third victim.

26-year-old Johnny Arellano  was arrested and taken into custody on the original charges on October 5th and was arraigned on the original charges on October 10th. The incidents allegedly occurred between June and October of this year and were brought to the attention of authorities by a concerned adult. During further investigation, authorities learned of a third minor female victim who Arellano reportedly had a sexual relationship with for several months.

Arellano now faces a total of ten felony counts – three counts of unlawful sex with a minor, 3 counts of sexual penetration, three counts of oral copulation and one count of sodomy of a minor. The former assistant track coach pleaded not guilty to the new counts.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 30th in the Norwalk Branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court.  Arellano faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.
