Suspect Arrested For Selling Drugs Near Boys & Girls Club

BAKERSFIELD — Deputies arrested a 33-year-old felon on Wednesday for selling drugs out of residence near a Boys and Girls Club in east Bakersfield.

Miguel Aguilar was booked into the Kern County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana for the purpose of sales, felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, participation in a criminal street gang and other drug and weapon related charges.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Major Violater Unit received information that various types of drugs were being sold from a home in the 800 block of Monterey Street in Bakersfield.

With assistance from the Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team and Gang Suppression Section, detectives went to the home located less than 50 yards away from the Boys and Girls Club in the afternoon hours on Dec.4.

There authorities said they confronted Aguilar as he left the residence, in possession of an illegal knife and marijuana.

He was detained while investigates searched the home, finding approximately one and one half pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of marijuana, two ounces of heroin, a small amount of cocaine, various prescription pills, about $13,000 in US currency believed to be proceeds from illicit narcotics sales, a .380 semi-automatic handgun and a fully automatic Uzi 9mm sub-machine gun.
