Three Arrested in California City Drug Sweep

CALIFORNIA CITY — Three people were arrested on Tuesady, during a citywide sweep to crack down on those suspected of selling drugs in the eastern Kern County town of California City.

Jesse Arellano, Houston Latrell Robbins III, and Christine Marie Branham were all booked into the Kern County Jail.

Arellano for posession of an unregistered firearm, Robbins for multiple charges including sales of illegal narcotics and Branham for willful harm or injury to a child.

According to the California City Police Department, the trio were arrested on Jan. 19, after officers from Ridgecrest, Cal City and the California Department of Corrections served search warrants at multiple locations.

During those searches officers said they discovered evidence indicative of the sale of narcotics, as well as firearms at couple of locations.

All three suspects are convicted felons, including Robbins who has served time in Wasco State Prison in 2001 for drug related offenses.
