Galt Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

Galt Police were able to apprehend a robbery suspect as he was attempting to flee the scene, according to an official press release.

Zachary Rodriguez, 21, of Galt was arrested and charged with armed robbery and carrying a loaded firearm, and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

On July 24, 2013, at approximately 11:15 p.m., three pedestrians were reportedly approached by a suspect wearing a bandana over his face and armed with a handgun near the corner of A and 2nd Streets. The suspect demanded the victims remove items from their pockets, took their cash, and fled the scene on foot.

The victims quickly called the Galt Police, providing a detailed description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Officers were close by and were able to locate the suspect as he attempted to flee the scene. The suspect, Rodriguez, was reportedly detained and arrested by officers without incident. Officers were able to recover the suspect’s firearm and the victims’ property.
