According to SLOPD, officers responded to the call around 2:20 a.m. that the store had just been robbed.

A witness stated a suspect entered the store and walked directly to the beverage cooler and selected an 18-pack of beer.

The suspect walked toward the front door and began running outside. The clerk chased after the suspect.

The clerk said the suspect suddenly stopped and confronted him and said he had a gun and starting reaching for his waistband. The clerk did not see a weapon.

Fearing for his physical well-being, the clerk went back into the store to call police.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt and red shorts.

The suspect ran to a pick-up truck that was parked nearby and drove away from the scene with the lights out.

Police believe a second suspect may have been waiting in the truck, described as a gold-colored 1990s full-size pick-up, possibly a Chevrolet.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect involved in this case to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 781-7317.
