Honey Oil Conversion Lab Raided

San Luis Obispo Police Department officers with assistance from members of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force shut down a suspected butane honey oil conversion lab on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office the suspected lab was located at a residence at 1716 Lynn Road in San Luis Obispo.

Investigators say the lab was discovered when a fire began at the residence that ultimately resulted in several explosions.

Responding fire and law enforcement personnel say they noticed a very large quantity of butane cylinders and a large quantity of marijuana.

This discovery prompted the police department’s request for assistance.

Sheriff’s lab-certified narcotics personnel responded with protective equipment and recovered evidence of a conversion lab.

Police say they seized 180 pounds of marijuana, scale 5 conversion cylinders and additional processing equipment.

Police also say several hundred butane cylinders were on scene.

Police arrested Candice Garcia, 55. She was charged with operating an extraction/ conversion lab and possession of marijuana over one ounce.
