Two arrested in Vallejo after fleeing from alleged stolen vehicle

Vallejo police arrested two men Saturday night who were driving in a car reported stolen.

According to the Vallejo Times Herald, officers were traveling at about 10:34 p.m. on the 1300 block of Georgia Street when they saw a car whose license plate number was listed as stolen, police said. As police were tracking the car, the vehicle stopped before the officers got a chance to pull the driver over. The two occupants within the car then exited the car, trying to flee the scene, police said.

According to the Vallejo Times Herald, police were able to detain one of the passengers soon after exiting the vehicle. He was identified as Kyle Kester, 18. Police set up a perimeter for the area to find the second suspect. They eventually found the man, later identified as Brian Harp, 34, hiding in the basement of a home, police said.

According to the Vallejo Times Herald, Harp was found to have been on parole.

Both Kester and Harp were booked into Solano County jail.
