Salinas-—Monterey County Sheriff Deputies arrested 29-year-old Jorge Alberto Diaz Flores of Salinas on Wednesday night in connection to a homicide case they have been investigating.
On Wednesday, May 16, authorities found the body of Daniel Anzur Cisneros down an embankment off of Los Laureles grade road. Investigators believe that Cisneros is between 30 and 31-years-old. Deputies are working on Cisneros’s identity with the Mexican Consulate and are trying to located family according to numerous news sources.
It is believed that Cisneros died of numerous stab wounds and that Flores is responsible for inflecting those wounds.
“We are working on this investigation and at this time can not release any more information as it is not known at this time.” Monterey County Sheriff Department Sergeant Anderson said.
The suspect Jorge Alberto Flores is from Salinas and works as a field worker. It is still unknown as the relationship between Cisneros and Flores.
“The suspect Jorge Alberto Diaz Flores has been turned over to the District Attorney’s office and is being charged with murder.” Monterey County Sheriff Investigator, Sergeant Terry Kaiser said, “It is unknown as to what additional charges if any the DA’s office will add.”
“At this point in the investigation we still don’t have any information about the victim as we have not heard back from the Mexican Consulate.” Sergeant Kaiser added.
