Four San Jose teens arrested last week after spotted prowling near Milpitas

According to Milpitas police, officers responded to the 1500 block of Albany Court at about 1:15 p.m. March 16 after a neighbor called 911 to report seeing the boys attempting to break into the side gate of a residence. The caller provided physical and clothing descriptions and indicated that the teens were associated with a green Chevrolet parked nearby.

Responding officers located the four teens sitting in the Chevrolet on South Gadsden Drive and determined they had no lawful business in the area. The three 17-year-olds and 15-year-old were detained at the scene while the officers continued their investigation.

A search of the car turned up items that appeared to have been stolen, but the officers could not immediately identify the owners of the property. All the items were seized for further investigation.

Based on the 911 caller’s report and the results of the investigation, the four boys were taken into custody for prowling. They are not being named because they are minors.

Milpitas police say they rely on the public to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Anyone with information on this case or any other suspicious activity is encouraged to contact Milpitas police at (408) 586-2400. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call (408) 586-2500.
