Three people arrested for Vallejo's man murder

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Dec. 3) — Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives arrested three people in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Vallejo resident David Joshua Barreda.

David Barreda is also know as “Johnny Vidal” or “King Rizz.”

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, homicide detectives arrested Curtis Chapman, 20, Richard Hundley, 20, and Tammy Turney, 44 — all three living in the Sacramento area — in connection with Barreda’s murder. According to investigators, a clear motive has not yet been established for this homicide.

According to the sheriff’s department, on the morning of Nov. 26, deputies responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle parked on 40th Street. Deputies arrived and found the vehicle, a white 1996 Ford Taurus, which had what appeared to be blood leaking from the trunk. The deputies opened the trunk and found Barreda’s body. The corner’s office determined Barreda’s death was caused by a gunshot wound and they do not believe he was murdered at the location where the vehicle and his body were found.

Anyone with additional information about this crime is urged to call Sheriff’s Homicide detectives at (916) 874-5115, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.
