Three men arrested for murder after comatose assault victim dies

SACRAMENTO — Three men have been arrested for the June 2002 beating of a man who slipped into a coma and died earlier this year.

On June 20, 2002, Billy Jackson, 30, Hosie Houston , 31, and Jason Maldonado, 28, allegededly beat  Wilbur Jackson III, 40 to death.

The beating occured in the  7400 block of Franklin Boulevard. The victim went into a coma and, as a result of his injuries, died in May of this year.

The three men have been charged with murder. According to the Sacramento Police Department, all three suspects are all ready in jail, on unrelated charges.
