Alameda High grad attempts to break out of police car after arrest

Early Monday morning, 2010 Alameda High School graduate, Kyle Andrew Bridges, was arrested in residential Alameda and charged with public intoxication, obstructing arrest and committing vandalism under the amount of $5,000.

An Alameda resident placed a call to the Alameda Police Department after hearing someone attempting to climb a fence bordering his property.

Two officers responded to the scene and found Bridges a block away from the victim’s home, laying in the sidewalk.

“Police determined that [Bridges] was intoxicated,” said an Alameda Police Department spokesman, and “(He) was originally arrested without incident.”

But once the suspect was handcuffed and placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, he kicked out the back window of the car using his feet, according to officials.

The police were able to restrain the suspect and neither he, nor the officers, reportedly suffered physical injury.
