Santa Cruz Police Department Makes 2 Bizarre Arrests

SANTA CRUZ – On March 18th the Santa Cruz Police Department encountered a drunk man riding his horse on E. Lake Avenue.  A deputy “conducted an equine stop.”

The unnamed rider was arrested and charged with being drunk in public. The SCPD reports that “his horse went home with a family member.”

He got his bike back

On March 13th a man stole a bicycle from the Live Oak area.  Deputies quickly located the thief near 17th Avenue and Brommer Street.

It turns out that the thief who originally tried to flee, ended up locking himself in an enclosed dumpster, making his arrest easy.

Bicycle and owner were soon reunited.
