CHICO – On the afternoon of Tuesday February 12th a call came in to the Chico Police Department about a domestic violence incident. The caller reported that her estranged husband was intoxicated and was “ramming his vehicle into her vehicle while she was driving.”

68-year-old Wayne Packer then tried to drive away from the scene but was met and stopped by arriving officers on Filbert Avenue.

The female victim and her dog were located in the damaged car but were not injured.

For his part, Packer was in violation of a domestic violence restraining order “by coming in close proximity of both the victim and the victim’s dog.”

He was charged with domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon,violation of a restraining order and driving while intoxicated.
