PIONEER – On Sunday November 25th at 8:30 a.m. a call came in to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office concerning a stabbing that occurred in the Buckhorn Mobile Home Park.

The caller, who is also the victim’s mother, stated that her son had been stabbed. The suspect had already fled the scene west on Highway 88.

The victim, stabbed in the abdomen, was flown to Sacramento Medical Center and is “currently in recovery.”

Before long a deputy, notified by the “Be on the Lookout” notice, spotted the suspect, 38-year-old Lodi resident Jason Glen Whitcanack, at the Sutter Creek Shell gas station.

Whitcanack was booked into the Amador County Jail where he races charges of assault with a deadly weapon and a probation violation.
