SAN RAFAEL — Authorities investigating drug trafficking at a downtown bar arrested three men and seized illicit drugs. These arrests resulted from raids at one of the bars and two residences.

Several law enforcement agencies under the auspices of the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force coordinated multiple law enforcement actions. First they set up a surveillance operation.

Later in the investigation, undercover detectives were able to purchase some illicit drugs. Authorities followed up with prerequisite search warrants to nab a few suspects.

The multi-agency inquiry and resulting raids and arrests on August 24 are part of an ongoing undercover investigation.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office oversaw raids in San Rafael and Novato. The federal Drug Enforcement Agency participated, and the San Rafael and Novato police departments also assisted.

Authorities searched Trevor’s Pub, located at 927 Tamalpais Avenue and a nearby apartment in San Rafael. Authorities also searched a residence in Novato. That’s how investigators seized cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine as evidence.

On the day of the raids, two San Rafael residents were arrested, 59-year-old Dru Devoe, and 57-year-old Michael Shaker. Gerald Yaklic, 47 of Novato was also taken into custody.

All three men face charges of suspicion of transportation or sale of methamphetamine. But Shaker faces an additional charge for the sale or transportation of a controlled substance.
