Westamerica Bank Robbery Suspect Nabbed at Burger King

Scene of Woods’ arrest (MPD)

MARTINEZ – A hungry bank robbery suspect was picked up by police at a nearby Burger King restaurant, shortly after Westamerica Bank at 590 Center Avenue was robbed at 12:21 p.m. on May 11.

Dillan Woods, 27, who is charged with robbery and parole violation, was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility, where he’s being held in lieu of $480,000 bond.

Woods allegedly handed a bank teller a note demanding cash, before fleeing on foot with the money in a northerly direction along Center Avenue, towards the Contra Costa Stadium Cinemas.

Police established a perimeter near the Burger King located at 7 Muir Road, about a mile away from the bank, where Woods was found and identified as the robbery suspect. The stolen money was ultimately recovered.
