SAN RAMON — A fugitive from Florida was arrested by the San Ramon Police Department. He is wanted by authorities in the Sunshine State on suspicion of murder. A woman who was with him was arrested on weapons charges.

Multiple officers responded after receiving an alert August 17 from an automated license plate reader. It indicated a car associated with an out-of-state murder entered San Ramon at 1:23 p.m.

The car was detected at the intersection of Saturn Park Drive and Deldrin Court. The driver led officers on a car chase onto northbound Bollinger Canyon Road. When it was finally stopped a man exited from the car and fled on foot.

A woman who stayed in the car, 30-year-old Tiarra Steadman of Florida was arrested at 1:59 p.m. Officers recovered a handgun that was reported stolen to the Hollywood (FL) Police Department.

Meanwhile, San Ramon PD deployed a drone and K-9 unit to search for the fugitive, 22-year-old Reynaldo J. Sanchez. A Danville PD K-9 team along with a California Highway Patrol helicopter also assisted.

Sanchez’s name, age, clothing description and photo were posted online by San Ramon PD, and a resident reported seeing him. Sanchez was subsequently located and arrested at 7:56 p.m.

Sanchez was booked for homicide on a warrant issued by the Broward County (FL) Sheriff’s Department. He remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility, pending extradition to Florida.
