SACRAMENTO — Thanks to the combined efforts of the West Sacramento and Citrus Heights police departments, a local man has been arrested on bank robbery charges.

On Friday, December 2, 2016, Mark Fischmann, 45, entered armed into a bank in Citrus Heights on the 5600 block of Sunrise Boulevard. He was able to leave with cash after demanding it from a teller.

Then on Wednesday, December 7, he entered another bank on the same block demanding money. This time, the bank called police and the suspect was forced to flee empty handed.

The next day, December 8, after both police departments conferred with each other, they were able to ascertain that it was Fischmann in both bank incidents.

He was then arrested later that day at approximately 6:00 p.m. by both departments near Richards Boulevard and Bercut Drive.

According to police reports, Fischmann was on parole for bank robbery.
