Three Suspects Arrested for Home-Invasion Spree in Fresno

Gale McQueen

FRESNO – Three men are in custody in connection to a series of home invasion robberies this month in Fresno.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said that the three men targeted Hispanic women and took jewelry, electronic equipment, and cell phones. The men were identified as 22-year-old Gale McQueen, 39-year-old Sammy Moses, and 38-year-old Daniel Reyes.

Authorities said that the men would go from apartment complex to apartment complex, basically searching for victims. In one week in November – from Nov. 6 through Nov. 15 – the men robbed five women outside of their apartments. At least one of the suspects kept an app on his smartphone in order to listen to police scanners while the crimes were being committed.

“A home invasion robbery of this nature is very rare in our city,” Dyer said.

Chief Dier went on to mention that in one of the incidents, one of the suspects pointed a gun at a pregnant woman’s belly and took her purse. The mastermind of the robbery actually called the police himself about the crime in an apparent attempt to throw suspicion off. “Perhaps he wanted to be able to readily have his alibi in place as to why he was in the area,” Dyer said.

Police spent approximately 600 hours of labor to make the arrests. All three men are gang members, and Moses is a convicted sex offender.

The crime spree prompted authorities to issue a warning to Fresno residents — “Be aware of your surroundings when you go outside, not to be paranoid or fearful, but to be aware.”
