Suspect Arrested for Kings County High Speed Pursuit

On November 6th, 2022 a Deputy Sheriff who was patrolling the area of 17th and Jackson Avenue spotted a Chevy Silverado with an expired registration. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop, and when the driver refused to stop a vehicle pursuit began. During the pursuit the suspect was reportedly driving at speeds exceeding 100 MPH, drove through several intersections, and also drove into oncoming lanes without slowing down.

Another Deputy successfully deployed spike strips at the intersection of Idaho Ave and 12th. Ultimately the tires of the suspect’s vehicle were punctured and they were forced to stop the vehicle.

The female driver identified as Frida Solis, a 27 yr old Reedley resident was taken into custody. The charges for Solis are Use/Under Influence Controlled Substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Evasion of Peace Officer – Wrong Side of Median, Evasion – Wanton Disregard for Safety

Also arrested were 2 passengers Carlos Orozco-Castaneda (24 years old) on charges of Use/Under Influence Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Also arrested was Santiago Morales (60 yrs old) on charges of with Public Intoxication.
