Man arrested in connection to alleged stabbing at Merced grocery store

A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged stabbing at a grocery store in Merced.

19-year-old Juan Guzman of Turlock is accused of stabbing an employee at the Food-4-Less grocery store on West Olive Avenue. The employee was treated for their injuries at hospital, police said.

With help from the community, Modesto PD Gang Unit investigators were able to quickly identify Guzman as the suspect. He was located and arrested during a traffic stop on Thursday, July 7, and initially booked at the Stanislaus County jail.

After police executed a related search warrant on the 1100 block of Park Street, Guzman was transferred to and booked at the Merced County jail.
