Sheriffs Arrest Fleeing Gang Member, Parole Violator

The San Luis Obispo Special Operations Unit arrested a known gang member who had violated his parole.

According to sheriffs, Adam Dykes, 28, was spotted in the parking lot of Albertson’s Supermarket in the 700 block of East Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo. According to officers with the Gang Task Force and Narcotics Unit they took Dykes into custody around 7:30 pm.

Sheriffs say during the arrest, Dykes tried to escape by fleeing in his car. They added that Dykes placed his vehicle into reverse and attempted to back up a short distance. In the process of trying to flee, sheriffs say Dykes nearly hit deputies with the vehicle.

Dykes has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony resisting arrest and a parole violation. It is unknown who alerted authorities to Dykes’ location. Bail is set at 50,000 dollars.
