“Around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 17th, officers responded to a robbery that just occurred at the Target, located in the 3300 block of Arlington Avenue. Loss prevention observed a frequent shoplifter inside the store concealing merchandise. When they approached him, the suspect brandished a firearm at them then took off on a bike. Fortunately, this suspect had some distinctive face tattoos, necklace chains, clothing, and unique bike so Target’s well-trained loss prevention was able to relay those details to our dispatch center when they called 9-1-1.
The first officer to arrive was able to quickly disseminate a photo of the suspect to assisting officers. One of our patrol sergeants checked a shopping center nearby and found the suspect’s bike, then located the suspect a few moments later behind the 99 Cents Only store where he was safely detained. A replica Glock airsoft pistol was found amongst the suspect’s belongings, along with the merchandise he just stole from Target.
Ricardo Williams, a 44-year-old transient on parole, was arrested and later booked into jail for robbery and violation of his parole where he is currently still in custody being held without bail.”
