TRUCKEE – Local community involvement helped to arrest two people who stole a wallet and used the contents to make over $1000 in purchases.

According to reports, the wallet was stolen from a locker at the Trout Creek Recreation Center. A surveillance camera recorded the thief in action.

Within an hour the stolen card was used to purchase $1,800 worth of gift cards from Safeway. This time, surveillance recorded the man and a woman making the purchase.

The next evening officers received a call about a disturbance in the Rite Aid parking lot. Arriving officers noted that the subject in question in the dispute was the thief from the day before.

The female was also with the suspect, and both were wearing the same clothes from the day before.

Tyler Goforth and Jesslynn Felix of Walnut Creek were arrested and booked into the Nevada County Jail where they face charges of burglary and narcotics possession.
