Suspect Arrested on Firearm Charges Following Road Rage Incident on Freeway in Ontario

ONTARIO, CA — California Highway Patrol investigators assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga Area office arrested a male suspect on Oct. 29, 2026, in connection with an Interstate 10 road rage confrontation that occurred over the summer.

The arrest originates from an incident in July 2026 along Interstate 10 in Ontario, where the suspect allegedly brandished a handgun at another motorist during an altercation on the freeway.

Following an ongoing probe, investigators located and apprehended the male subject. During the enforcement contact, officers conducted a search of his vehicle and discovered a loaded, unserialized firearm matching the description of the handgun reported by the victim in the initial incident.

Officers seized the firearm as evidence and transported the suspect to a local detention facility, booking him on criminal charges that include brandishing a firearm at an occupant of a motor vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol emphasized that aggressive driving and roadway violence endanger the general public. Officials advise motorists involved in or witnessing road rage encounters to refrain from confronting hostile individuals, remain inside their vehicles, create distance from the situation, and call 911 when safe to do so.
