Oct. 28, 2026 — Ventura County, Calif. — A fight involving several people in Oxnard on the night of Oct. 15 has led to a firearms investigation and the arrest of a 26-year-old man nearly two weeks later.

According to Oxnard Police Department spokesman Detective Randall Gonzales, officers were called to the Wagon Wheel Road area at approximately 9 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a fight involving several people. Callers also reported that one of those involved was carrying a firearm.

Officers responding to the scene contacted several people connected to the disturbance but did not locate a weapon.

The case was subsequently turned over to investigators with the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit. Investigators worked with the department’s Neighborhood Policing Team to review evidence and identify the person believed to have possessed the gun during the altercation.

Investigators eventually identified the suspect as Rivaldo Aguirre, 26, of Oxnard.

A search warrant for Aguirre, his vehicle and his residence was served early Oct. 28. During the search, investigators discovered a loaded 12-gauge shotgun with an obliterated serial number, along with ammunition, according to police.

Aguirre was taken into custody and transported to the Ventura County jail, where he was booked on multiple firearms-related charges. He remains in custody without bail
