Santa Rosa Police Seize Firearms, Make Multiple Arrests Across Two Separate Traffic Enforcement Stops

SANTA ROSA, CA — “Over a roughly five-hour period spanning the evening of September 26 and the early morning hours of September 27, 2026, Santa Rosa Police Department officers conducted two separate traffic enforcement stops that resulted in the seizure of two illegally possessed firearms and the arrest of four individuals.
Incident #1 — Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Illegal Short-Barreled Rifle and Multiple Weapons Arrests
On September 26, 2026, at approximately 8:23 p.m., a Santa Rosa Police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Fulton Road and San Pedro Drive after observing a vehicle displaying expired registration.
During the stop, the officer observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. Additional officers responded to assist with the investigation and complete a search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers located a duffel bag on the rear seat containing a loaded, un-serialized .223 caliber short-barreled rifle (SBR). The firearm was seized as evidence.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of two adult occupants, Deshawn Porter, a 21-year-old male from Sacramento, and Eric Sutton, a 23-year-old male from Santa Rosa, on multiple felony weapons-related charges. A third occupant, a juvenile, was also arrested on weapons-related charges and booked into Juvenile Hall. The juvenile’s identity is being withheld in accordance with state law.

Incident #2 — Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Convicted Felon for Possession of Loaded Firearm
On September 27, 2026, at approximately 1:18 a.m., a Santa Rosa Police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of 10th Street and Mendocino Avenue after observing a vehicle speeding and failing to maintain its lane.
The vehicle was occupied by three individuals. During the investigation, officers learned the driver was on felony probation for robbery. The officers removed all the occupants to conduct a probation search.
While conducting a pat search of front passenger Bradley Fahey, 22, of Santa Rosa, officers located a loaded handgun concealed in his pants pocket. Further investigation revealed Fahey, who has a prior felony conviction, was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Fahey was arrested without incident and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on the following charges:

The remaining occupants were released at the scene.

These two investigations reflect the value of proactive traffic enforcement. In both cases, officers initiated stops for routine vehicle code violations, and developed each contact into a felony weapons case, removing two illegally possessed firearms from Santa Rosa streets.
