Culver City Police Arrest Lancaster Man for Allegedly Shooting Gun from Moving Vehicle, Evading
CULVER CITY, CA — “On September 19, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Culver City Police Department officers were traveling westbound on Washington Boulevard near Centinela Avenue when they witnessed multiple gunshots being fired from a white pickup truck traveling eastbound on Washington Boulevard.
Officers observed muzzle flashes coming from the driver’s side of the vehicle and heard approximately four to six gunshots. The shooting occurred in an area busy with surrounding vehicle traffic and patrons at nearby businesses.
Officers immediately attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver failed to yield, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit ended on Inglewood Boulevard near Gilmore Avenue, where the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers broadcast the suspect information to police in the surrounding area and safely detained two occupants from the vehicle without incident. With assistance from the Los Angeles Police Department, a person matching the description of the fleeing driver was located and detained nearby. Culver City Police officers responded and positively identified the individual as the driver who fled from the vehicle.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun concealed beneath a floor mat near the front passenger seat.
Additional officers responded to the area of Washington Boulevard and Centinela Avenue and located .40-caliber cartridge casings in the roadway.
The suspect, Keven Lawrence Brown, a thirty-three-year-old resident of Lancaster, was arrested and booked at the Culver City Jail for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place or vehicle, altering or removing identifying marks from a firearm, willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
A check of the area and local hospitals was conducted, and no injuries related to the gunfire have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
