Between August 24, 2026, and August 30, 2026, investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, patrol station deputies, and the San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team executed 14 search warrants and conducted proactive patrols. Operations focused on targeted areas including San Bernardino, Fontana, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Hesperia, and Colton.

The enforcement actions targeted known gang members and individuals legally prohibited from possessing firearms. Over the course of the week, officers seized eight firearms and took 11 individuals into custody on felony charges.

The ongoing initiative, designated Operation Consequences, is funded through countywide crime suppression funds authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to address quality-of-life issues and violent crime.

The multi-agency effort will continue over the coming months in the High Desert and jurisdictions surrounding San Bernardino. Participating agencies include the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, local patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
