Madera Police Arrest Juvenile Suspect who Reportedly Fled from Them in a Stolen Car

MADERA, CA — Madera County authorities recently arrested a juvenile suspect who allegedly led them on a vehicle pursuit in a stolen car.

According to a press release by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the area of Conrad Street and Pecan Avenue on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 30.

When officers tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver, reportedly a 15-year-old juvenile, allegedly refused to stop and led the officers on a pursuit.

The driver lost control of the vehicle when they attempted to turn north onto S. Madera Ave. from Avenue 12 and struck an unspecified object near the road, disabling the vehicle, plice said.

The driver then fled on foot into a nearby orchard, but was located and arrested shortly thereafter.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was booked on charges related to the incident, police said.
