In-Vehicle Domestic Violence Incident Ends in Arrest of Suspect
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Officers with the Marina Police Department assisted the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office early Friday morning in locating a vehicle involved in an active domestic violence incident.
At approximately 1:17 a.m. on August 28, 2026, Marina police officers responded to calls for assistance regarding a physical domestic altercation occurring inside a moving vehicle traveling through Monterey County. Officers located the target vehicle in the area of Reservation Road and Monterey Bay Education, Science, and Technology Center Drive (MBEST Dr).
Upon contact, the driver exhibited partial non-compliance and was taken into custody by Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies following a brief struggle. Officers located the female victim inside the vehicle, confirmed her safety, and provided immediate assistance.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office assumed primary jurisdiction over the scene and is leading the ongoing investigation.
