Convicted Felon Arrested for Possession of 5 Guns
“A search warrant in Penryn led to the recovery of five firearms, large-capacity magazines, and ammunition including at least one firearm that had been reported stolen.
Earlier this month, Placer County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Detectives served a search warrant at the Penryn residence of 34-year-old Gregory Hyde. Hyde was on active Placer County Probation at the time.
Of the five firearms recovered, at least one was reported stolen.
Hyde is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He was arrested on August 10 and booked into the Placer County Jail on multiple felony charges, including felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, illegal possession of an assault weapon, possession of stolen property, and possession of a firearm with a previous violent offense conviction.
Great work by our Special Operations Detectives in getting these firearms off the streets.”
