Child Exploitation Investigation & Search Warrant: Desert Hot Springs Resident Arrested
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — Officers with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, working alongside the Riverside County Child Exploitation Team (RCCET), arrested a local resident Wednesday morning following a search warrant execution linked to child exploitation material.
In the early morning hours of August 26, 2026, law enforcement personnel initiated service of a search warrant at a residence on the 64000 block of Pierson Boulevard. The subject of the warrant, Richard Rodgers Jr. of Desert Hot Springs, was sought by authorities in connection with the possession of explicit images involving children.
Officers observed Rodgers Jr. departing the residence in a vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and took him into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, investigators from DHSPD and RCCET executed the search warrant at the Pierson Boulevard home. During the search, officers located and seized more than 500 images containing child pornography.
Rodgers Jr. was subsequently transported and booked into the Riverside County Jail on charges related to child exploitation.
