Hit-And-Run Suspect Apprehended

“On the evening of August 28 at approximately 5:30 p.m., an Lincoln Police Department officer located an outstanding hit-and-run suspect vehicle near East Avenue and 6th Street.

The officer made contact with the driver and sole occupant, 34-year-old Tisiah Prout. During the contact, Prout was uncooperative and physically resisted, briefly pulling the officer partially inside his vehicle. The officer freed himself and Prout fled the scene. A vehicle pursuit ensued.

Prout struck the officer’s marked patrol vehicle’s front push bumper and causing damage. Later, the pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into PG&E infrastructure fencing. Prout fled on foot and concealed himself within an outbuilding, at a residence across from the Lincoln Police Department.

Officers established communication with Prout to de-escalate the situation and secure a peaceful resolution. Prout eventually complied and was taken into custody without further incident. He was arrested and will be booked on felony evading, hit and run, and felony resisting arrest charges.

Prout is the same individual who led LPD officers on a vehicle pursuit a few weeks ago throughout Lincoln before being taken into custody following a foot pursuit.”
