California Highway Patrol Arrests Driver Twice in Three Days on High-BAC DUI Charges
GRASS VALLEY, CA – Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Grass Valley area office recently arrested a driver on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after recording a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .450%. The legal limit for driving in California is .08%.
According to the agency, the same driver was arrested again by CHP Grass Valley officers three days later, at which time the driver recorded a BAC above .400%.
The department stated that officers will continue patrolling Nevada County roadways to identify impaired drivers and enforce traffic safety laws. Law enforcement officials advise individuals who consume alcohol to plan ahead by using rideshare services, taxis, or designated sober drivers. Additionally, the agency requests that members of the public call 9-1-1 if they observe a suspected impaired driver on the road.
