Man Arrested After 911 Hang-Up Call Leads to Domestic Battery Charges & Firearm Discovery
VISALIA, CA — At approximately 7:17 a.m. on Monday, Visalia Police Department patrol officers responded to a reported 911 hang-up call in the 2300 block of East Feemster Avenue. Dispatchers informed responding officers that a man and woman were involved in a disturbance and that the male subject had threatened to shoot at arriving police officers. The individual subsequently departed the residence driving a silver Ford F-250.
Officers located the vehicle near the intersection of Irma Avenue and Feemster Avenue. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Daniel Lyons, was cooperative with law enforcement and detained without incident. A records check confirmed that Lyons had an outstanding arrest warrant related to a firearms charge, and officers placed him under arrest for domestic battery stemming from the morning’s incident.
During a search of Lyons’ truck, officers located a loaded Glock handgun alongside an unserialized firearm, commonly referred to as a ghost gun, equipped with a high-capacity magazine. Lyons was booked into a local facility on his outstanding warrant, domestic battery, and multiple firearm-related charges.
