Man Arrested At Probation Office in Stolen Vehicle

“Central Division POP Deputies spotted 35-year-old Joshua Thatch leaving a McDonald’s on Florin Road in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Deputies confirmed the vehicle matched the stolen vehicle alert and followed Thatch while additional units responded.

Thatch was already on probation for multiple vehicle theft and stolen vehicle-related convictions, as well as grand theft.

Where was he headed? To the probation office to check in with his probation officer… in a stolen car.

Deputies took Thatch into custody in the parking lot of the probation office, and he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

His booking photo cannot be released due to California state law.

Our probation officers do a tremendous job, but are overwhelmed with an abundance of “clients” while being greatly understaffed. We value their partnership in keeping Sacramento County safe.”
